2-Step verification is intended to provide an extra layer of security on top of your normal login process with a user ID and password. When logging in on a new device or browser, you will be asked to enter a 6-digit verification code that is sent to your mobile device. This process means that there are two types of verification before you can get into your myFICO account: your password, and a one-time verification code. You will be asked for a verification code anytime you log in on a new device or using a private or incognito browser.
When logging in on a new device, you will have the option to "Remember this device," which means that the next time you log in using that device, you won't have to use a verification code.
